Aloha my friends!
It's good to be back, I've been on a little haiatis for awhile, sorry about that. Wow! I don't know where to start, lets just say that after 6 weeks of breaking lava rocks with a sledge hammer it was great that these past two weeks we were doing easy assignments, no large hammers and no 400 pound fenceces to roll out..lol Feels like I got paroled from prison..lol..
Been doing a lot of fishing, mostly during the nights to relax , but it seems everytime my friends and I go to the ocean we end up in a down pour, whitch is good , because we badly need the rain here, but then, no one catches fish , were all hiding under the tarps, staying dry and drinking beers, and we call that a successful fishing trip...lol.. but we make up for ir in the mornings, and we always go home with enough fish for our families.
Oh I don't know if I told most of you, my daughter has about a month and a half before she gives birth to my forst Grand child, I can't wait to have another addition to the family Hehe! I know its going to be a girl, don't ask me how I know I just know.
Well my friends, It's going to take me awhile before I get back into the swing of things , so I'm going to end it here, Take care ya all

Man what a day! I never thought it would end, got to work at 6 this morning at 6:30 we have a morning meeting to find out what our duties will be for the day, found out it was the same shit! we've been doing for 3 weeks, building more fences, but before we can build the fences we got to clear the area of brush and lava rocks, so off we go again out into the lava fields. after a short 30 minute drive, we get ther, the suns shining, theres a nice cool morning breeze, just a beautiful day, I could think of a hundred places I would rather be , but I started to look around and I realized that this is where I had to be so why not make the best of it, it could be worse, it could be hotter..lol..so we grab our tools, my tool of the day is a 16 pound sledge hammer I use to smash lava rocks, I ues it to level the ground so that when we lay the fence its all even to the ground.
Well we started working, my two partners clearing brush and me following behind them swinging that hammer, at around 11:30 I was getting burned out it was hot really hot! and we hadn't taken a break all morning, so we took an early lunch, after lunch it was back to the hammer, ...I'm really starting to hate that hammer..lol.. but we knocked of work at 3 .. we were totally exhausted, I couldn't wait to get back to base, to get a diet coke and a sanwhich, Well thats what a typical Monday is like in paradise...Aloha!
Hello my Friends!
I know it's been awhile since I posted anything, been having a a rough go of it lately, work has been the hardest it's ever been, or I'm coming to find out that I'm not that young anymore..lol.. and mentally, me and my woman have been having a hard time because of the distance of our relationship, but just let me tell you, when you love someone, it goes way beyond the mear physical realm, it spams the universe, and nothing will ever keep us apart, my love for her is so very strong that I'm willing to wait till I die to be with her, and she knows this, I won't get in to the details of what happened its our personal business, but what I can say is that she knows how I really feel about her! Honey thank you! and I'll talk to you soon.
and finaly! The rain has come back to the big Island, it's been a drought here for the last few months, no real substantial rain fall, but we had a few good showers last night, so life is getting back to normal, well I'm going to town to see what kind of trouble I can get into ..lol...see you all later

P.S Life's good when your in Love!
Man it's good to find time to write again, these past 3 weeks have been such a drain, mentally and physically, work has been very demanding, with shedules to meet, and being pushed to the limits of our endurance.
But now I got 3 days to forget about the stresses of work, and believe me, I forgotten already..lol.. But theres one thing I am looking forward to this weekend, and thats to spend some time with my love! Jan I hope your reading this, because I can't wait!
But for now lets get back to a story that happened a long time ago, when I was a kid, I was around 10 at the time, we lived in the country at the base of the Koolau's, which is a mountain range on the the Island of Oahu, in the mountains behind our house there were a lot of history and a lot of artifacts to be seen, there were Hawaiian graves and stone walls , and even sacraficial stones and pits, these stones were very large and the shape of a human was indented into the stone, so that if you were to lay on it, you would fit perfectly, and back in the old days a slave or captured warrior was taken to these boulders, and layed on it and there throats would be cut, to please there Gods.
So now you have a back ground on where I lived as a young ladd, now to the story. One day my mom came to us at breakfast and she told my dad and the rest of us not to go around the house, because we had a visitor during the night, so we all agreed not to go back there, and as the day wore on, I happened to over hear my mom tell my dad that a Menehune, had come and he was a bad one, he had defecated right below the the stairs to the back door, so now I was curious, and I just had to see it, when I went back there my mom had already taken cared of it, she had placed two large Taro leaves over it, so I sneaked over to look under the leaves, it was a very large pile, Oh shez! I'm getting ahead of myself, let me explain what a Menhune' is, there the little people of Hawaii, like the Lepprechauns of Ireland, it's said that if you ever see a Menehune' never tell anyone or for the rest of your life you will suffer the worst luck Imaginable. But getting back to the story, what was strange about this dodo was there was colors to it, swirls of reds and greens and browns, but there was no smell, strange, but I covered it up again and left it.
At dinner that night my mom told us that it was Menehune' dodo, and that she had placed Taro leaves over it, and that how ever made it will come tonight and take it back, now I couldn't wait for the morning to go and see if it would be gone, so I started to ask my mom some questions about it, I asked her why the Menehune' had made dodo and the bottom of the stairs, she said that one of us had seen something while in the mountains, and it wants us not to tell, so I took it as that, so when the morning came I asked my mom if we could check if the dodo was gone, so we went back there together, and she lifted the taro leaves, and low and behold, it was gone, nothing remained, it was like it was never there.
This experience was the start to my education in the the majik that is Hawaii.
Well another week done, It was a Bitch of a week too, Monday started off with with a 5 kilometer hike with full packs, over the roughest terrain we have up there, crackly loose sharp lava, which we call (Aa,aa) lava, this stuff will cut thru the toughest leather hiking boots they make. Well we walked and spayed weeds around the endangererd plants for 5 hours straight, before we could walk out and get some water and have lunch, my two partners and I felt like burnt french fries that was in the oil to long..lol..but that was monday, Tuesday was no better, the only thing good was that they flew us out in a Helicopter to a remote sight, and after 5 hours of work it was time to walk out, the walk was not that bad just uphill for 3 miles..lol..Wednesday was no better, we had a lot of spraying to do at a lot of different sites, but first let me explain that Hawaii has the most rare and endangered plants in the whole world, almost 95% of the plants are here in Hawaii, so we really take it very seriouly to protect these plants, if we lose them they would be gone forever.
Well anyways we walked and sprayed all day until we were exhausted, little did I know that I had twisted my knee while walking on some loose lava, it didn't feel that bad at the time and I didn't worry about it, and kept on working, the next morning (Thursday) I couldn't walk on it, my knee had swollen up, it hurt just to look at it ..lol.. so I knew that all the weeks activities had done it's job, I couldn't go to work today, it needed to be iced down and rested, so I got 4 days to get it back in shape, today it's not that bad the swelling went down a little, and I can hobble around a, little better than staying in bed all day..lol..and Yesterday I got to spend a little time on the IM with my Lady! It's always a pleasure to see her, God she's Gorgeous, I can sit here and look at her all day, and I have ..lol.. put it wasn't long before she had to go to bed, so I was left to to just relax and enjoy the day at home.
Well that what I've been up to this week nothing much, just another typical day in Hawaii.
Aloha!
